Tourism on the French Riviera began when aristocrats first chose the destination for its mild winter climate, among other attractions such as the stunning coastal landscape. Over time, hotels emerged to accommodate these travelers, some of which remain in operation today.

The Nice Hôtel Historique label aims to highlight establishments that opened before 1939, celebrating the pioneering role they played in the early days of tourism on the Côte d’Azur.

The official awarding ceremony took place on January 29th at the stunning Villa Masséna Museum
